Median: is the middle most number in a number line.

It is achieved by lining up all the numerical points of interest in ascending or descending order & then simultaneously eliminating both the highest and the lowest numerical points available... thereby methodically moving toward the center most number with every duel elimination of the 2 most extreme numbers.

It is complete once there is only 1 or 2 numbers are left. The median is that single number that is left or the average of the two numbers that are left.

Median is NOT the numerical average which can be affected drastically by 1 or a few very large or VERY Small numbers.

EXAMPLE: The Average of 3 numbers: $2, $50 & $2000 is $2052/3= $684; But the Median is $50, As the middle number of that set of numbers.
